    Ring! Ring! Guess Who?!

    9th March 2006

oldphone.jpgThis is something that happens to me often, and I have no real explanation for it. On several occasions the past few days when my phone rang and I answered the phone, the person on the end of the line was precisely the person I had just been thinking about a few moments earlier.

On Monday, I was preparing a report for my boss, and in one of the reports, I was reminded of one of my vendor’s reps to whom I owe a return phone call. I made a mental note that I should call him right after I completed my report. A few seconds later, the phone rang, and it was the rep I had been thinking about.

It happened again just a couple days ago when I was thinking about a customer. I was going through my follow-up list of people I needed to call back. I thought of him, but I decided to work my way down the list, as he was further down on the list. He called me and left me a voicemail while I was on the phone with others.

Then this morning, as I was working on something else, I thought another of my vendor’s reps whom I called and left a message for yesterday. As I was finishing up what I was doing so that I can call her again, the phone rang and she was on the other end of the line!

How do you explain such phenomena? Does it happen to you too? Do you have other similar experiences? Are these just coincidences or are they indications or glimpses of another reality that we do not know about, but that we access through thoughts, dreams, “sixth senses”, prayer or meditations?
