He may not be too bright, or so he says, but he listened…

“We’re not the brightest of people – rugby players – but a warning like that sunk in pretty quick.” …

“We basically stayed away. We were in the pool having a quiet Bintang (beer) and we said to each other … what this guy, our mate, said about not going out on the Saturday night and then we went up to our rooms and we heard that the bombs had actually gone off,” he said.

    On not “going to church”…

    2nd October 2005

Taking the cue from Adrian, I thought I’d post my brotherly encouragement to Messy Christian who is experiencing the blues when it comes to church-going.

Hey Messy, it does sound scary to those of us who have been schooled in the traditional way of thinking that translate “church” = “sanctuary” = “the presence of God” = “where God’s people are (or should be)” = “where God’s work is done.” etc. when we hear of people shying away from fellowship with other Christians or skip attending worship services.

Unfortunately the above equation is not true.
