That T-Shirt
2nd January 2005
I first saw it here, referred from a post by Miss O’Hara, whom, by the way, I find funny, interesting and insightful most of the time.
Then, I saw it here along with what I can only describe as propagandist, inflamatory, insinuating conclusions that I believe is unsubstantiated (where are my meds, I am getting a tad over-dramatic here!). So, I got to ask:
"Did the guy wearing that T-Shirt go out of his way to buythat because he was a fan, or did he perhaps pick it up from some charity who gave it to him? Do we even know the answer? Should we jump to the conclusion that all these people are linked to the perpetrators of 9/11 just because of what any Law & Order aficionado might call ‘circumstancial evidence?’"
Even if these people were found to be sympathizers, isn’t there a Biblical principle about heaping coals of fire on our enemies’ heads by showering them with love, compassion and care? Or should we stand by and cry, "You deserve it, you snivelling Bin Laden sympathizers you!"
(I better watch it, or I will have to re-read my earlier post on "Be Ye Angry, And Sin Not!)

I know that we (American’s and/or Christians) are hated by many, if not most, muslims. Their god commands them to destroy us.
(I’ve posted this similar comment on some of the blogs I’ve seen that T-shirt on with supplementary posts.)
While their god commands them to destroy, the Christian God…the One and Only God, commands us to love our enemies.

Wow it’s certainly odd to see the proponents of godless dictators preach about Christianity and how people aren’t “Christian” enough…But then a good “Christian” to you is a socialist, then, am I right? So, in fact, it is not too much of a stretch for Christian heresy to embrace Marxism as a creed, since, as G.K. Chesterton said, heresy is often truth gone mad. Liberation theology is the admixture of one small truth (God cares about the poor) with so much error that it resulted in a madness that saw Christians champion what amounted to terrorism against propertied elites. Of course, it didn’t work out the way any theologians imagined it would.
A soft version of liberation theology thrives with Leftists in the U.S. who want to beat us over the head with their marxism. Whether it is raiding corporate boardrooms to protest outsourcing, blanketing churches with Green political propaganda, agitating for higher welfare budgets or arguing against tax cuts, the underlying ideological assumptions are clear enough. The Religious Left starts with the assumption that there are certain conflicts in life that are intractable: the rich vs. the poor, prosperity vs. the environment, tax cuts vs. charity, and localism vs. globalism. This is a soft version of the original liberationist idea, sold in the name of “social justice,” “business ethics,” “social responsibility,” and many other catchphrases.

My dear friend, aren’t you jumping to conclusions again? Catchphrases indeed. Did you read my post? If you did, please answer the question I raised.
